Vision
LifeGate Church is a Spirit-empowered, life-giving church for the Bluegrass Region, the nation and the world.
Our mission is to invite people to enter into the whole new way of life that Jesus promised to give them (John 10:10)
The Bible often refers to the people of God as a building, a temple or a house (I Cor 3, Ephesians 2). We think that this word picture is a great way to describe the vision for LifeGate Church. Every building has 3 basic components; a foundation, walls and a roof.
The Foundation – Putting the most important thing first
The foundation of LifeGate Church can be found in Jesus’ words in Matthew 22, when he tells us that the first and most important commandment is to love God with all of our heart, with all of our soul and with all of our mind. Before we do anything else, we have to first love God with all that we have. At LifeGate Church, everything that we do is built upon this foundational principal. Our love for God can be expressed through worship, prayer, acts of service, and the practice of spiritual disciplines.
The Four Walls – LifeGate’s Model of Ministry
Once the foundation is properly laid, a builder can then begin to erect walls. At LifeGate Church our “walls” are the areas of ministry that we emphasize. LifeGate Church will:
Reach those who are not Christ-followers with the life-giving message of Jesus (Mark 16:15-16)
Renew both the broken and hurting and maturing believers through the teaching of the Word of God, counseling, mentoring and ongoing discipleship training in life groups (Romans 12:2)
Refine believers into kingdom leaders by identifying each believer’s God-given gifts, equipping them to use those gifts and providing opportunities for practical ministry involvement (2 Timothy 1:6)
Replicate life-giving ministry locally, regionally, nationally and internationally through sending and supporting other church planters, missionaries and evangelists (Matthew 10:7-8)
The Roof – Keeping Out the Elements
If you have ever had a leaky roof, you know how important a good roof can be! The roof of a building keeps the weather from destroying what is inside. The spiritual roof of LifeGate Church is relationships. The Bible teaches that our relationships with one another can keep us safe when the storms of life rage around us. In fact, Jesus said that loving our neighbor is the second most important commandment, behind only loving God himself (Matthew 22:39-40). At LifeGate Church our focus is on helping you develop healthy, life long relationships that will build you up spiritually. The most important way that we do that is through LifeGate LifeGroups, small groups based around what you like to do.
